WHAT HE DID NOT SAY

1. Sunday Worship : Yeshua did not say that you worship only on Sundays. Everyday His disciples went two by two, planted churches, broke bread and shared the whole wisdom of God, from house to house and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.  (Acts 2:46-47;20:20; Heb. 3:13)

2. Professional Priest : Yeshua did not command you to appoint qualified professional clergy. He ordained priesthood of all believers. His disciples were ordinary people who did extra-ordinary things and changed the world. (Math. 4:19; 10:1,2; John 10:12,13; 1Pet 2:5,9)

3. Holy Communion : Yeshua never said that only the clergy can serve bread and wine. He served roast lamb, bread, bitter herbs and wine for the last supper. His disciples shared community meals whenever they met in His remembrance. (Exo.12:8;1Cor 11:20-26)

4. Tithing : Yeshua did not say that tithe is for the upkeep of the church. Instead believers brought their possessions to the feet of apostles so no one lacked anything. You are to bring your offerings and eat it with others from house to house. (Matt. 23:23; Acts 4:32-34; Deut. 8:17-18)

5. Buildings : Yeshua did not say that you should build churches. He said ‘God does not live in houses made with human hands because heaven is His throne and the earth is His foot stool.” Yeshua said that you are the temple of the living God. (Acts 7:48-49; 2 Cor. 6:16)

6. Baptism : Yeshua did not say that only ordained people can baptize. Yeshua said you go and make disciples and baptize them. (John 15:16; Matt. 28:19)

7. Marry And Bury : Yeshua did not tell the clergy to marry and bury. He said let the dead bury the dead, you go and raise the dead. (Luke 9:60; Matt. 10:8; Eph.5:25)

9. Church Program : Yeshua did not say follow your church program and become a member. He said “follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matt. 4:19; 1 Cor. 11:1)

10. Revival Meetings : Billy Graham was once asked, "If you were a pastor, what strategy would you implement?" He replied, "I would choose 12 people and transmit my life to them. I would then send them out to do the work." Yeshua did not tell you to organize crusades and conventions which have very little ‘lasting fruit’. God will not judge you on the basis of large crowds but on your bearing ‘Fruit that remains’ and what you did for the least of the world. (Matt. 25:31-46,18:3-6; Isa. 58:6-9)

11. Women : Yeshua did not say that only men can talk in the church and the women should cover their head and keep quiet. He discussed the theology of worship with the Samaritan woman, let Martha interrupt His teaching, and the Syrophoenician woman to argue with Him in public. (1 Cor. 14:29-31; Luke 10:40; Mark 7:24-30)

12. Ordination : Yeshua did not say that you are a layperson. He bought you with His blood and ‘ordained’ you priest and king to make disciples, baptize, equip fishers of men, plant legitimate expressions of the Body of Christ and reign on earth. (John 15:16; Rev. 5:9-10; 1 Pet 2:9)
