प्रार्थना विषय: अपने नगर हेतु प्रार्थना
Subject: Prayer for Your City

यहोवा की स्तुति करो, उससे प्रार्थना करो, सब जातियों में उसके बड़े कामों का प्रचार करो, और कहो कि उसका नाम महान है... (यशायाह 12ः 4-6)

कैसरिया-फिलिप्पि, रोमी गर्वनर की राजधानी थी। बहुत से देशों के राजदूत अपने सोने, चान्दी, लकड़ी और संगमरमर के बने मूर्तियों को साथ लाते थे, इस कारण राजधानी बहुत से देवी-देवताओं से भरी थी। इस मूर्ती पूजक शहर में प्रभु यीशु ने अपने स्वयं की पहिचान को पूछा। केवल पतरस ने सही उत्तर दिया ‘‘आप जीवते परमेश्वर के पुत्र मसीह हैं’’। इस शहर में, जहाँ हर कदम पर अधोलोक के फाटक खुले पड़े थे वहाँ प्रभु यीशु ने घोषणा किया, कि मैं अपनी कलीसिया बनाऊॅगा, और अधोलोक के फाटक उस पर प्रबल न होंगे। (मत्ती 16ः 13-19) 

उत्तर-पूर्व के मिज़ोरम प्रान्त के निवासी, पांढान देवता को मानने वाले खंूरवार, खून के प्यासे आदिवासी अपने पड़ोसी का सिर काट डालते थे। एक सौ वर्ष पहिले उन्होंने यीशु मसीह को ग्रहण किया, क्योंकि दो मिशनरियों ने वहाँ जाकर अपने विश्वास को उनके साथ बांटने का साहस किया। इसके परिणाम स्वरूप अपराध, कंगाली, गंदगी, अशिक्षा, और हत्या में भारी गिरावट आई। वे अपने पड़ोसियों की सहायता करते, और अपने शहर को साफ और स्वच्छ रखते हैं। बहुत से शासकीय कार्यालयों में सुबह की आराधना के बाद ही काम आरम्भ होता है। विधान सभा के चुनाव लड़ने वालों को चर्च से प्रमाण-पत्र लेने की आवश्यकता होती हैं ताकि सही लोग चुने जाएं। एक छोटा सा राज्य होते हुए भी वे अपनी आय से एक हजार मिशनरियों का खर्चा उठाते हैं। उनका लक्ष्य है कि वे शीघ्र दस हजार प्रचारक भेजेंगे।

अधिकांश मसीहियों के हृदयों में नौकरी और धन कमाने के देवता होते हैं। परमेश्वर विश्वासियों के हृदयों में बसे देवताओं से अत्यन्त नाराज़ है। हमें अपने भ्रष्ट नगर को परिर्वतन करने के लिये सबसे पहिले मसीहियों के हृदयों और घरों से उनके इष्ट देवताओं को निकालकर अन्य जातियों के लिये प्रार्थना हेतु घरों को खोलने की आवश्यकता है तत्पश्चात वे मिशनरी भेजने वाले नगरों में बदल जायेंगे। (यहेजकेल 14ः 1-6)

।। प्रार्थना ।।

1. अगम्य ज्योति में रहने वाले पवित्र पिता, हम धन्यवाद देते हैं कि आप, झूठी ज्योति के स्वर्गदूत लूसीफर को एक दिन भस्म कर देंगे। लूसीफर सर्वागं सुन्दर, बुद्धिमता और धन से भरा और सिद्ध था, संगीत उसके लिये बनाया गया था। परन्तु पिता जब आपने उसमें कुटिलता पाया तो उसे नीचे गिरा दिया। उसी तरह कुटिल लोग भी नाश हो जाएंगे। (यहेजकेल 28ः 11-19)

2. हम अपने शहर में घोषणा करते हैं कि प्रभु का दिन निकट आ गया है, इस लिए लोग उसका भय मानकर पश्चात्ताप करें क्योंकि वह जीवतों और मृतकों का न्याय करेगा। प्रभु हम प्रार्थना करते हैं कि हर एक बस्ती बदल कर शान्ति के नगर बन जाएं। (प्रेरितों के काम 10ः 34-35; 2 तीमुथियुस 4ः 1)

3. हम पश्चात्ताप करते हैं कि हमने हमेशा असीमित परमेश्वर को एक भवन में सीमित करने का प्रयास किया है परन्तु स्वर्गो के स्वर्ग में भी तू नहीं समा सकता। हम प्रार्थना करते हैं कि सभी मसीही, इमारतों का दर्शन छोड़ कर अपने घरों को खोलें और अपने तन, मन, धन को खोई हुई भेड़ों को बचाने में लगाएं। (2 इतिहास 6ः 18; प्रेरितों के काम 4ः 35)

4. ओ प्रभु क्या ही सुहावने हैं उनके पांव जो शान्ति का सुसमाचार प्रचार करते, और शुभ समाचार के आनंदमय वचन लाते हैं। ओ प्रभु ऐसा होने दे कि हमारा शहर ऐसे सुहावने पांवों से भर जाए। (रोमियों 10ः 15)

6. ओ प्रभु आपका धन्यवाद करते हैं क्योंकि आपने हमारा चुनाव, हमारे भ्रष्ट शहर को एक पवित्र शहर में बदलने हेतु किया है। प्रभुजी होने दे कि हमारी मध्यस्थता की प्रार्थनाएं और प्रयास के कारण अघोलोक के फाटक बन्द हों जांए और हमारे नगर के लोगों के लिये स्वर्ग के दरवाजे खुल जांए और हमारा शहर बेथेल, अर्थात परमेश्वर का घर बन जाए। (उत्पत्ति 28ः 10-22)

Subject: Prayer for Your City

“And in that day, you will say praise the Lord, call upon His name, declare His deeds among the peoples and make mention so that His name is exalted. Sing, cry out and shout O inhabitant.. (Isaiah 12: 4-6)

Caesarea Philippi was the capital of Roman governor. Ambassadors of many countries lived there. They used to bring their own gods made of gold, silver, wood and marble. It was known for it’s many gods and goddesses. In this city of gods, Jesus asked His disciples, about His own identity. Only Peter replied correctly “You are Christ, the son of the living God”. In this city, with the gates of Hell wide open at every step, the Lord Jesus declared “I will build My Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it”.(Matthew 16: 13-19)

The inhabitants of Mizoram, a state in the North-East, were believers of Pagan gods. The bloodthirsty natives used to cut off the heads of their neighboring tribes. A hundred years ago they accepted Jesus Christ because two missionaries dared to go and share their faith with them. As a result, crime, poverty, filth, illiteracy and murder etc. came down precipitously. Now they fear the Lord, help their neighbors and keep their cities neat and clean. Work starts in many government offices after morning devotion. Candidates for election to the state parliament need clearance certificate from the church so that only those with good standing can be elected. In spite of being one of the smallest states, they support 1000 missionaries from their own earnings.

 

Our business is to demolish the devil’s empire but sadly our leaders dream of constructing grandiose buildings and building their own empires, which is against the will of God (Acts 7: 48, 49). We need to transform our Beth Avens (cities of iniquity) by encouraging worship in every house, which will demolish the local gates of Hell and turn them into Bethels (cities of God). For this we need to go right into the thick of the sin infested parts of the city.

:: PRAYER :: 

1. Father, who dwells in glorious light, we thank You that one day You will reduce Lucifer the angel of false light, to ashes. Lucifer was perfect in beauty and full of wisdom and wealth; for whom music was prepared, but Father, You cast him out when iniquity was found in him. (Ezekiel 28: 11-19)

2. We proclaim to our city, that the Day of our Lord has come close, therefore all peoples should repent and fear Him because He will judge the living and the dead. Lord we pray that our dirty shantytowns will become real ‘Shanti (peace) Towns’. (Acts 10: 34, 35, 2 Timothy 4: 1)

3. We repent because we have always tried to contain You in a building. But the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. We pray that all Christian leaders should give up the vision of grand buildings. Instead they should invest their energies and resources in apostolic ministries, which are directly involved in saving of the lost sheep. (2 Chronicles 6: 18; Acts 4: 35)

4. Lord, we pray that every Christian should be prepared to give his last mite, like the poor widow to send missionaries. We thank You for giving us the power to earn wealth. Help us now to use this wealth to be a blessing to others according to Your covenant. (Luke 21: 1-4; Deuteronomy 8: 17, 18)

5. O Lord, ‘how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good news. Grant O Lord that our cities may be filled with such beautiful feet. (Romans 10: 15)

6. O Lord thank You for choosing us to change our corrupt city into a holy city. O Lord grant that by our prayers of intercession and the proclamation of the gospel, the gates of hell will be closed and the gates of heaven be opened for the people of our city. May our city become ‘Bethel’ i.e. the House of God.(Genesis 28: 10-22)
