नये नियम में बपतिस्मा देने और रोटी तोड़ने का अधिकार पास्टर को कहीं पर भी नहीं दिया गया है क्योंकि यह हर एक नया जन्म पाए विश्वासी का जन्म सिद्ध अधिकार है।

प्रार्थना विषय: आपके शहर का रूपान्तरण

प्रातः काल को अपना बीज बो और संध्या के समय अपने हाथ ढ़ीले मत कर, क्योंकि तू नहीं जानता कि इस समय की या उस समय की बोआई सफल होगी, अथवा दोनों समय की समान रूप से अच्छी। (सभोपदेशक 11ः 6)

प्रार्थना विषय: शहर का रूपान्तरण

जिस नगर में मैने तुम्हें बंधुआ (नौकरी अथवा व्यवसाय) हेतु भेजा है उसकी कुशलता का प्रयास करो, और यहोवा से उसके लिये प्रार्थना करो, क्योंकि उसकी कुशलता में ही तुम्हारी कुशलता है।(यिर्मयाह 29ः 7)

प्रभु यीशु ने एक कोढ़ी को छूकर यहूदियों के धार्मिक नियम को तोड़ा जिस कारण यहूदी अगुवे नाराज हुए, परन्तु प्रभु ने प्रेम का एक ऊँचा नियम स्थापित किया। उस अछूत व्यक्ति ने पूरे शहर में घूम घूम कर लोगों को प्रभु के बारे में इतना प्रचार किया कि वे शहर में प्रवेश नहीं कर सके। (मरकुस 1ः 40-45)

सामरी स्त्री एक बदनाम स्त्री थी। वह शहर के लोगों का सामना नहीं कर सकती थी। परन्तु प्रभु यीशु के साथ सम्पर्क होने पर सामरी स्त्री इतना अधिक रूपान्तरित हो गई कि पूरे नगर को यीशु के पैरों पर ले आई। (यूहन्ना 4ः 39)

अशुद्ध आत्माओं की सेना से स्वतंत्र होने के बाद, गिरासेनियों का मनुष्य प्रभु के साथ जाना चाहता था। परन्तु प्रभु ने उसे अपने मित्रों को अपनी गवाही देने को कहा। रूपान्तरित मनुष्य ने पूरे दिकपुलिस (जिसका अर्थ है दस शहर) में प्रभु यीशु का प्रचार किया और लोगों ने अचम्भा किया। (मरकुस 5ः 18-20)

दित ;क्पजद्ध पूरी तरह से एक अयोग्य व्यक्ति था। वह छोटा, काला और शारीरिक रूप से अपंग और अनपढ़ था और पंजाब के अछूत समुदाय का था। उसने यीशु के बारे में जाना। उसके जीवन के अंत (1968-1905) समय तक उसकी गवाही के कारण 58,000 लोगों ने जल संस्कार लिया।

प्रभु यीशु ने शारीरिक, सामाजिक और आत्मिक रूप से अयोग्य लोगों को रूपान्तरित किया जिन्होंने जाकर अपने शहर को बदल डाला। यदि ऐसे कठिन परिस्थिति के लोग ऐसा अद्भुत कार्य कर सकते हैं तो हम भी कर सकते हैं। बस दिल में आग होना चाहिये। यदि आग नहीं है तो शहर नरक की आग में चला जाएगा और यदि आग सुलग जाती है तो शहर भी कसौटी के कुंदन के समान चोखा हो जाएगा।

 ।। प्रार्थना ।।

1. ओ आत्याधिक दयालु पिता, आपने संसार से इतना अधिक प्रेम किया कि आपने देह धारण किया, ताकि साधारण लोगों के बीच में रह सकें। प्रभु जी हमारे प्रयास से शहर के हर भाग में रूपांतर की आग लग जाए।(प्रकाशितवाक्य 21ः 3-4)

2. ओ दयालु प्रभु हमें भी अपने समान गरीबों, विघवाओं, अनाथों, झुग्गी-झोपड़ी में रहने वालों निराश्रितो, अपंगों और सताए हुओं के आंसूओं को पोंछने के लिये प्रोत्साहित कीजिये। (भजनसंहिता 146ः 3-10)

3. ओ प्रभु, आप ने पापियों के साथ संगति किया था। प्रभुजी होने दे कि हम भी भ्रष्ट लोगों, शराबियों, वेश्याओं, अपराधी तत्वों और सभी गलत काम करने वाले पापियों के लिये उद्धार का स्रोत बने। (मत्ती 21ः 31-32; यशायाह 56ः 3-5)

4. पिता, पवित्रात्मा की सामर्थ में हम अधोलोक के फाटकों को बन्द करते हैं और अपने प्रभु यीशु के नाम की मोहर लगाकर धार्मिकता के द्वार खोलते हैं ताकि हमारे शहर के लोग अधोलोक में प्रवेश नहीं करने पाएं (यशायाह 5ः 14)

5. प्रभु आपने कहा है कि यदि हमने इन छोटे में से छोटे लोगों के लिये कुछ भी किया है तो उसे हमने आपके लिये किया हैं। प्रभु हमारी परोपकारी सेवकाई के द्वारा हमारे शहर में कोई भूखा और प्यासा, या कोई मैले चिथड़ों में नही मिले। कि कोई ऐसा बीमार नहीं होगा जिसकी देख भाल न की गई हो और न ऐसा कोई कैदी होगा जिसकी सुधि ली गयी न हो। कि हर एक मसीही अपनी रोटी भूखों के साथ बांटेगा, नंगों को वस्त्र पहिनाएगा और सारी आवश्यक वस्तुएं बांटेगा जो आपने बड़ी करूणा से हमें बहुतायत से दी है। (मत्ती 25ः 31-40)

6. प्रभु हम आपको धन्यवाद देते हैं कि हमारा चुनाव, अपने शहर के सुख समृद्धि हेतु प्रयास करने के लिये किया है। पिता जिन्होंने आपकी सेवकाई के लिये अपना घर, अपने प्रिय लोग, नौकरी, सम्पति और सुरक्षा को छोड़ दिया है अब हम प्रार्थना करते है कि आप उन्हें सौगुणा आशीष दें। (मत्ती 19ः 27-30)

First Saturday of the Month

Subject: Transformation of the city

“Seek the peace of the city where I have sent you and pray to the Lord for it, for in its peace you will have peace.” (Jeremiah 29: 7)

Jesus touched a leper and healed him. By touching him Jesus broke the Jewish law, which annoyed the Jewish leaders, but He fulfilled a higher law of compassion. Jesus told him to go to the temple to fulfill the Mosaic Law. Instead the untouchable man went all over the town and told everybody about Jesus. Jesus could no longer enter the town because the crowds came to him outside the city. (Mark 1: 40-45)

The Samaritan woman was a woman of ill reputation. She could not face the people of the town so she went to fill water at the well at lunchtime when other women were busy at home. After coming in contact with Jesus, the Samaritan woman was so impressed that she went to every house and brought the whole city to Jesus. (John 4: 39)

The man from Gadara was totally demonized. After being released from thousands of unclean spirits, the man wanted to go with Jesus. Instead Jesus told him to go and give his testimony to his friends and relations in Decapolis. The man went and proclaimed Jesus all over Decapolis (which means ten cities) and all marveled. (Mark 5: 18-20)

Dit was small, dark and physically handicapped. He was illiterate and belonged to the untouchable Churha community in Punjab. He came to know Jesus. During the day he went from village to village, buying and selling leather and in the evening he shared his faith with his Churha ‘Biradari’ (brotherhood). By the end of his life in 1905 he got 58,000 Churhas baptized. 

Jesus chose physically, socially and spiritually worthless people who changed their cities and their peoples. If these severely handicapped people could do it then we can all do it, provided we want to. 

:: PRAYER :: 

1. O most merciful Father, You loved the world so much that You incarnated in Your Son to dwell among ordinary people. Lord we invite You to dwell amongst all the ethnic groups in every part of our city, especially among the poor and the down trodden. (Revelation 21: 3, 4)

2. O merciful Lord, encourage us also to go like You and wipe away the tears from the eyes of the poor, the widows, the orphans, the slum-dwellers, the homeless, the disabled and oppressed people.

3. O Lord, grant that the drunkards, pimps and prostitutes, the gays and tax collectors of this place may find salvation and become sources of salvation for others.  (Matthew 21: 31-33; 19: 11, 12)

4. Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, we close down all the gates of Hell and put a seal of the name of our Lord Jesus, so that the people of our city may not enter Sheol. (Isaiah 5: 14)

5. Lord, You have said that what you have done unto the least of these you have done it unto Me. Lord grant that by our mercy ministry, there will be no hunger or thirst or anyone in dirty rags in our city. We pray that there will be no one sick who has not been taken care of and no prisoner who has not been visited by us. Grant that every Christian would be ready to share his bread with the hungry, clothes with the naked and all the necessary material blessings, which in Your mercy You have given in abundance to us. (Matthew 25: 31-40)

6. Lord, we thank You that we have been chosen to pray and bless and do all the necessary things for the welfare of our city. We know that we must seek Your kingdom first. Father we thank You for those who have forsaken their homes, loved ones, their jobs, property and security. Now we pray that You bless them a hundred fold. (Matthew 19: 27-30)
