महीने का तीसरा शनिवार

प्रार्थना विषय: मज़दूरों के लिये प्रार्थना 

प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने भीड़ को देखकर तरस खाया और कहा कि फसल तो तैयार है परन्तु मज़दूर थोड़े हैं इसलिये खेत के स्वामी से प्रार्थना करो कि मज़दूर भेजें। (मत्ती 9ः 36-37; यूहन्ना 4ः 34-38)

यदि आपके पास अच्छी भूमि, अच्छे बीज, पर्याप्त पानी तथा खाद इत्यादि सब है परन्तु मज़दूर नहीं हैं तो क्या आप फसल उगा सकते हैं ? यीशु ने कभी उच्च शिक्षित अगुवे नहीं मांगे, परन्तु मज़दूर तैयार किया जो प्रभु के खेतों में जाकर अपने हाथ और पांव गंदे करने को तैयार थे। परिणाम स्वरूप यरूशलेम से रोम तक कलीसियाएं बिना किसी बाइबल काॅलेज के बढ़ती रहीं। 

अधिक शिक्षित व्यक्ति, मज़दूर के समान खेत में काम करने के लिये अनुपयोगी होता है। यह उस सेना के समान है जो कप्तानों से भरी है परन्तु कोई पैदल सैनिक नहीं। आप बिना पैदल सैनिक के कैसे युद्ध जीत सकते हैं ? हाॅ हमें अवश्य कुछ कप्तानों की आवश्यकता है परन्तु प्रभु यीशु को विशेष रूप से मज़दूरों की आवश्यकता है।

शहद का छत्ता क्रियाशीलता का अच्छा उदाहरण है। रानी मधुमक्खी केवल कुछ कप्तान मक्खियाँ और हजारों की संख्या में मज़दूर मक्खियाँ उत्पन्न करती हैं जिसका परिणाम बहुत सा शहद। मज़दूर नहीं तो शहद भी नहीं। इसी प्रकार थोड़े मज़दूर तो थोड़ी सी आत्मिक फसल। हमारी कलीसियाएं, दर्शणहीन अगुवे और निकम्में सदस्यों से भरी है इसलिये प्रभु के पके खेतों में काम करने वाले  मज़दूरों का अत्यन्त अभाव है।

सत्य तो यह है कि वर्तमान की कलीसिया विनाश होने वाली भीड़ को देखकर तरस भी नहीं खाती और न खेत के स्वामी से उनके लिये प्रार्थना करती है। इसके विपरीत पहिली शताब्दी की सताई लघु कलीसियाओं ने अत्याधिक संख्या में योग्य मज़दूर तैयार किये। प्रभुजी ने भाषण कम दिया और प्रत्यक्ष प्रशिक्षण ज्यादा दिया। आज भी प्रभु के पके खेतेां में जाकर व्यवहारिक प्रशिक्षण देना, शिष्य बनाने का सबसे उत्तम नमूना है। (2 तीमुथियुस 3ः 10-11)

।। प्रार्थना ।।

1. ओ पिता, आप दाख रोपक हैं, प्रभु दाखलता हैं और हम शाखाएं हैं। हम याचना करते हैं कि कोई शाखा फलरहित न रहे, अन्यथा उसे आग में डाल दिया जाएगा। प्रभु हर एक विश्वासी जाने कि आपकी महिमा करने का सबसे उत्तम तरीका, बहुतायत के फल लाना है और तभी हम आपके शिष्य कहला सकते हैं। (यूहन्ना 15ः 1-8)

2. प्रभु आपके मज़दूर वही करे जो सच हैं, जो कुछ आदरणीय है, जो कुछ सही है, जो पवित्र हैं, जो सुन्दर है, जो अच्छे आदर्श का है, यदि कुछ भी स्तुति के योग्य हैं तो उनका मन इस पर लगा रहे। (फिलिप्पियों 4ः 8)

3. प्रभु आपकी दया से हमारा न्याय, मात्र हमारे ज्ञान से नहीं परन्तु हमारे फलों से होगा। हम यह जानते हैं कि हर एक मज़दूर अवश्य सताया जाएगा, परन्तु जो अंत तक धीरज रखेगा वह जयवंत और फलवंत होगा। प्रभुजी आपकी कलीसिया पके खेत में काम करने वाले मज़दूरों से भर जाए।  (2 तीमुथियुस 3ः 12; मत्ती 7ः 16-20)

4. प्रभु सारपत की गरीब विधवा के समान, हमारे तेल की कुप्पी और आंटे के बर्तन से हम भी कम से कम एक मिशनरी भेजे और स्वेच्छा से उनकी आर्थिक सहायता करें। (फिलिप्पियों 4ः 19)

5. प्रभु उन मज़दूरों के लिये जो पके खेत में जाकर शिष्य बनाते हैं, हम आत्मिक फलों की बहुतायत और उनके परिवारों के आर्थिक स्रोत के लिये प्रार्थना करते हैं ताकि उन्हें किसी बात की कमी घटी नहीं हो। उनके घरों के चारो ओर हम आपके लोहू की सुरक्षा का बाड़ा बांधते हैं। (यशायाह 54ः 10-17)

6. ओ पिता, हम आपको धन्यवाद देते हैं उस चुनौति के लिये कि हम अपने प्रभु से अपने सारे हृदय, सारे प्राण और अपने सारी सामर्थ और अपने सारे मन से प्रेम करें। अपने पड़ोसियों को पिता और माता, भाईयों और बहनों के समान प्रेम करने में हमारी सहायता कर। (लूका 10ः 27; मत्ती 12ः 46-50)

Subject: Prayer for Laborers 

“When Jesus saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion and said, “the harvest is truly plentiful but laborers are few.” (Matthew 9: 36, 37; John 4: 34-38)

If you have acres of good land, good seed, plenty of water, manure, etc. but no laborers then you cannot have a harvest. Jesus never asked for highly qualified leaders but for laborers who will go into the harvest fields and dirty their hands and feet. The church managed to grow from Jerusalem to Rome and beyond without a seminary until the revolt of Martin Luther. The Catholic Church started its first seminary in 1545 to produce qualified Reverends to protect the wholesale exodus of monks and nuns to get married.

We all know that the more qualified a person is, the less useful he is as laborer in the field. It is like having an army full of generals but no foot soldiers. How can you win a war without foot soldiers? Yes we do need a few generals but laborers are what Jesus specifically needs.

A beehive is a hub of activity. The queen bee produces thousands of ‘worker bees’ and only a few ‘guards’. The result - plenty of honey. No workers, no honey. Similarly few laborers - little spiritual harvest.

Jesus discipled twelve fisherman for three and a half years. Then he took the test and asked Peter, ‘Do you love me’? Peter said of course I do. Then Jesus commanded him to take care of His sheep. Loving Jesus and loving the sheep are interlinked. If we really love Jesus then we will go out, find the lost sheep, and lovingly bring them into the fold. 

The persecuted little house churches produced amazing number of quality leadership. Jesus did not say ‘follow our program’ but ‘follow me’. The apprentice system is still the best model of equipping the disciples. Paul as a father could confidently say, ‘You have carefully followed my teachings, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance and persecution.’ How many of us could make that kind of statement today? (2 Timothy 3:10, 11)

:: PRAYER :: 

1. O Father, you are the vinedresser, Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We plead that no branch should remain fruitless; otherwise it will be thrown into fire. Grant that every branch be loaded with ‘fruit that remains’. (John 15: 1-8)

2. Lord, let Your laborers do whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is anything worthy of praise, may their minds dwell on these things. (Philippians 4: 8) 

3. Lord, in Your mercy, we will be judged not by academic knowledge but by our fruits. We know that every laborer who goes out to gather fruit will surely be persecuted but he who perseveres till the end will be victorious. Lord, let every enemy of Yours may learn that it is foolishness to kick against the edge of a sharp axe. (2 Timothy 3: 12; Matthew 7: 16, 20; Acts 26: 14)

4. Lord, like the poor widow of Zarephath, with our own jars of oil and bins of flour we will help in sending and supporting reapers into Your harvest field. We pray that every Christian family will generously support at least one missionary. (Philippians 4: 19)

5. Lord, for those church planters who go to make disciples, we pray for enlargement of their vision, plenty of spiritual fruit and abundant financial resources for their families so that they may lack nothing. We build a hedge of protection of Your blood around their homes and families. (Isaiah 54: 10-17)

6. O Father, we thank You, for challenging us to love the Lord with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength and with all our mind. Help us to love our neighbors as spiritual fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters. (Luke 10: 27, 1 Corinthians 4: 15)
