  परमेश्वर के राज्य का विस्तार और प्रत्येक विश्वासी का उत्तराधिकार "मैं तुझे इसलिए भेजता हूँ कि तू उनकी आँखें खोले, जिससे वे अन्धकार से ज्योति की ओर और शैतान के अधिकार से परमेश्वर की ओर फिरें, कि वे मुझ पर विश्वास करने से पापों की क्षमा और पवित्र किए हुओं के साथ मीरास प्राप्त करें।" (प्रेरितों के काम 26:17–18) प्रस्तावना बाइबल का सबसे महान विषय केवल उद्धार नहीं, बल्कि परमेश्वर के राज्य का विस्तार है। उद्धार उस यात्रा का आरम्भ है, जिसका अंतिम उद्देश्य है - मनुष्य को परमेश्वर के स्वरूप में पुनर्स्थापित करना, उसे उसका आत्मिक उत्तराधिकार देना, और उसे ऐसा शिष्य बनाना जो आगे और शिष्य तैयार करे। यही कारण है कि यीशु मसीह ने अपनी पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के अन्त में अपने शिष्यों को कोई धार्मिक संस्था स्थापित करने का आदेश नहीं दिया, बल्कि स्पष्ट आज्ञा दी - "इसलिए तुम जाकर सब जातियों को चेला बनाओ..."  (मत्ती 28:19–20) यह केवल ग्यारह प्रेरितों के लिए नहीं था; यह प्रत्येक पीढ़ी के प्रत्येक विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर की आज्ञा है। जो स्वयं मसीह का शिष्य है, वही दूसरों को भी शिष्य...
