THE GREAT COMMISSION

THE GREAT COMMISSION

Jesus Commanded us to go and open their eyes, take them out from darkness into light and from the kingdom of Satan into Kingdom of God so they can also have eternal inheritance. Acts 26:18

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, therefore – Go and make disciples of all nations, baptize them, make them obedient to all my commands and send them to the ends of the earth. (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

GO:
· Who is the sender?: Lord Jesus.
· What is the Purpose? To make disciples.
· How many to go? 2x2. (Luke 10:1, 2)
· Go with what? With authority to cast out evil spirits and heal the sick. (Luke 9:1, 2)
· Where to go? Where Christ has not been named. (Rom. 15:19, 20)
· What to do there? Find a “House of Peace” and make reproducing disciples that plant healthy multiplying churches. (Luke 10:5-9)

MAKE DISCIPLES:
· What is the Purpose? A disciple aims to be like his teacher (Jesus). (Luke 6:40)
· Who is a disciple? "One who is known for his loving relationship with other disciples." - (John 13:34, 35)
· A disciple glorifies God by making more disciples by bearing abundant lasting fruit" - (John 15:8, 16)
· A disciple is willing to pay the cost of being a disciple: (Luke 14:26)
