Queen Esther: When God Worked Behind the Curtain
Across the nation, as Devi Aradhana and Dussehra are being celebrated - the festival of victory of good over evil - the story of Queen Esther from God's Word teaches us a profound truth.
Key Verse: Esther 4:14 - "And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"
1. The Crisis - In Persia
Haman plotted to destroy the Jews. Just as we see evil all around us today. Esther, who was a Jewish orphan girl, became the Queen of Persia by God's divine plan.
2. The Weapon - Fasting and Prayer
Esther did not go to the king with a sword. She said:
"Go, gather together all the Jews... and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day... When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish." - Esther 4:16
This is the identity of a Prayer Warrior - first on our knees, then on the battlefield.
3. The Invisible Hand of God
One special thing about the Book of Esther is that the name "God" is not mentioned even once in the entire book, yet His hand is seen on every page. The king not being able to sleep, the right document being read at the right time, Esther finding favor - it was all God's plan.
This teaches us that when we think God is silent, He is still working for us.
4. The Victory - The Festival of Purim
Through Esther's prayer and courage, the Jews were delivered. This day is still celebrated as the Festival of Purim - the victory of good over evil.
Message for Us Today:
- You have been chosen for such a time as this - for your family and your nation.
- Your greatest weapon is prayer.
- God is working behind the scenes for you even now.
A Prayer: "Father, give us a heart of fasting, prayer, and courage like Esther. Let Your peace and the victory of good prevail in our nation. Amen."
