SOME ESSENTIAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE INSTITUTIONAL CHURCH AND THE ORGANIC CHURCH

 ·        Christ is the head of an Organic church. (Eph. 1:22,23)

Clergy is the leader of an Institutional church.

·        The Organic church is made up with living stones. (1Peter 2:5)

The Institutional church is made up from brick, mortar and dead stones.

·        In the Organic church Fivefold ministry gifted elders speak to the heart and teach obedience and equip the saints for the work of the ministry. (Eph. 4:11,12)

In the Institutional church Clergy only speak to the head to educate them with more knowledge but nothing to implement.

·        The Organic church is participative, where the Holy Spirit guides the dialogue and the interaction. (1 Cor. 14:26; John 14:26)

In the Institutional church is monologue based where Clergy is the sole interpreter of the Word of God for the mute audience.

·        The Organic church is a House of Sacrifice that offers sanctified Gentiles as living sacrifice, well pleasing to God. (2Chro. 7:12; Mal. 1:11; Rom. 15:16)

The Institutional church is House of Prayer that only offers sacrifice of the praise of the lips. (Mark 11:17; Heb. 13:15)

·        The Organic church has apostles, prophets, ambassadors and royal priests as disciple-makers and movement planters. (1Pet. 2:9; 2Cor. 5:20; Eph. 4:11,12)

Institutional church has clergy, worship leaders, lead singers and program coordinators as performers and laymen as spectators but no disciple-makers.

·        Organic church has skilled fishers of men, sowers of seed, reapers of harvest, producers of fruit and feeders of the flock to keep them healthy and reproducing. (Matt. 4:19)

Institutional church has unskilled followers of Christ that do not know how to catch two-legged fish, sow the seed, reap the harvest or feed the flock.

An Organic church is defined in the Scriptures as a flock, a field, a family, a body, a     bride, a branch, a building made of living stones.

An Institutional church is a building made of dead stones, a steeple with a cross on top, stained glass windows, a denominational brand or a business enterprise.

·      The Organic church resonates with the will of the Father that “None should perish” and obeys his commands. (2Peter 3:9; John 14:15)

The Institutional church also loves Jesus but does not obey his commands.

·        The Organic church is focused on the “lost, the last and the least”. (Luke 15:7,10)

The Institutional church is focused on the chosen and frozen “found”.

·        The Organic church produces fruit that is a storehouse of reproducing seed. God put seed in every fruit and in everything living thing, including animals and humans and called the church His Bride, so she would reproduce. (Gen. 1:29,30; John 15:8,16)

The Institutional church produces seedless fruit that cannot reproduce.

·        Organic church’s objective is to reach the ends of the earth by multiplication of disciples and churches. (2Tim. 2:2; Acts 16:5)

Institutional church’s objective is to grow its membership.

·        The mandate of the Organic church is to fulfil the Great Commission to disciples all nations, tongues, and tribes. (Matt. 28:18-20)

The Institutional church’s goal is to grow its own empire.

·      The Organic church is a go church, “Go and be a blessing to others.” (Col. 1:27,28)

The Institutional church is a come church, “Come and be blessed”.

·        The Organic church brings forth 30, 60, even hundred-fold harvest. (Mark 4:3-8)

The Institutional church brings forth pew potatoes that do not germinate.

·        The Organic church loves God, loves neighbours in need, loves one another, even loves her enemies. (John 13:34,35; Matt. 5:44)

The Institutional church motto is “I love my Jesus and my Jesus loves me”.

·        Organic church members cheerfully make freewill offering for reaping the harvest. (2Cor. 9:6,7)

The Institutional church members tithe dutifully according to Mosaic Law for church maintenance.

·        The Organic church is a household of God with 24x7 loving relationship with one-another. Meets in homes, cafes, parks, the workplace or wherever. (Eph. 2:19,20)

Institutional church celebrates a religious event once a week for a couple hours in a dedicated religious building which has no biblical warrant.

·       The Organic church is a living organism – the Body and the Bride of Christ. (Rev. 21:2; Col 1:24)

The Institutional church is a registered organization.

·        The Organic church breaks bread (eats food) and shares the whole wisdom of God with both believers and non-believers, from house to house. (Acts 2:46,47; 20:7,20)

Institutional church takes a wafer and a sip of wine as a religious sacrament in a sacred building served by a sacred man to a sacred people.

·       Institutional church informs.

The Organic church transforms. (Rom. 12:1,2)
