IS THIS POSSIBLE IN YOUR CHURCH?
- “Confess your trespasses one to another and pray one for another, that you may be healed” (Jam. 5:16).
- Even in a small Gathering, it is difficult to confess our sins and pray for each other, yet in a large group, it is impossible.
- “Exhort one
another daily” (Heb. 3:13) Is this command possible in a once-a-week
congregational service?
- Daily exhortation is only possible in a daily gathering.
- “Preach the Word; be ready in
season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and
teaching” (2 Tim. 4:2).
- This is only possible in the intimate environment of a small group.
- “Whenever you
come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a
revelation, and has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification” (1Cor.
14:26).
- This injunction is consistently disobeyed in every church, because in a large congregation it is not possible to give everyone an opportunity to express themselves, which is essential for growth.
- When you pray and fast like the Ekklesia at Antioch,
does the Holy Spirit tell you who all should go as missionaries? (Acts 13:1-3).
- Perhaps your church is so occupied with its own programs that she has no time to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. Can your church really be a mature church without sending missionaries?
- “When you come
together, let the word of Messiah dwell in you in all wisdom, teaching and
admonishing one another, hymns and spiritual songs with grace” (Col. 3:16).
- If you try to admonish anybody, or, under inspiration of the Spirit, start singing on your own, then you are likely to be bounced out of your church premises promptly.
- “Submit one to
another in the fear of God” (Eph. 5:21).
- In a large congregation, how many people can you submit yourself to? Some are not even born again, and you would refuse to submit yourself to many of them. In a true Ekklesia of God, everyone will submit one to another.
- The Lord gave a new commandment: love one another so
much that those of other faiths will believe in the Lord (John 13:34-35).
- Such a demonstration of love is not possible in a large congregation, for it can only be practiced in the Household of God.
- Scripture says, “And
the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet” (Rom. 16:10).
- Is your church trampling Satan’s head? For that, it is necessary to find out where his head is, then prayer walk treading over it, claiming the land and planting a church for permanent occupation.
- “He will deliver the kingdom to the Father, when He
puts an end to all rule and authority and power” (1 Cor. 15:24).
- Is your city ready for the imminent return of the Lord? If not, better start cleaning out city gutters and sprucing it up with flags and flowers and a huge crowd from all ethnicities to welcome Him.
