CHRIST CENTERED AND HARVEST FOCUSED PRAYERS

Yeshua commanded us to, “Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers into his harvest field.” (Luke 10:2). The good news is that the harvest has been ready for the last 2000 years. The bad news is that the laborers are few and far between. Our prayers should have LASER like focus that results in a super abundance of laborers (disciple makers and church planers), being sent out to every nook and corner of the earth, beginning at our household, neighborhood and workplace.

What does Christ Centered mean? :

Christ came to do the will of the Father.

Like Paul we need to model Christ.  “What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me--practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4:9)

What is the will of the Father?

1. That none should perish but come to the knowledge of truth and be saved. (1 Peter 3:9; 1Tim. 2:4).

2. He said, “Ask of Me and I will give nations for an inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.” Lost people saved by us are our inheritance. (Psalm 2:8)

3. He wants all nations, tongues and tribes standing before him wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands, worshipping him. White robes denote being holy (set apart) and palm trees bear abundant life saving sweet fruit even in difficult desert situation, meaning we are to bring forth abundant fruit wherever and whatever situation, God has placed us. (Rev. 7:9,10)

To accomplish that, He sent His only Son as a missionary to:

1. Demolish the works of the Devil. (1 John 3:8).

2. To seek and save the lost. (Luke 19:10).

3. To turn his followers into fishers of men. (Matt. 4:19).

4. To focus on a few (twelve disciples) to reach many. Mark 6:7. These disciples would rapidly multiply generational disciplers with ability, flexibility, skills and passion to go and turn their world upside down. (2Tim. 2:2; Acts 17:6).

What does harvest focus mean?:

Yeshua gave His Last Command to each one of us through His disciples to equip an effective and productive Harvest Force”

Go, make disciples of all nations, baptize, make them obedient, equip them for ministry as my witnesses and send them to the ends of the earth. (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; John 20:21; Eph. 4: 11,12).

He has chosen us and ordained us to go and bring forth lasting fruit to qualify us as his disciples and then pray and ask for anything and the Father in heaven will do it for us. (John 15:5,8,16).

He has given us a simple methodology: Go 2 by 2, where Christ has not been named, find a person of peace, eat and preach the gospel with mighty signs and plant a multiplying church in his house. Do not hang on but pass on the baton to the local spiritual fathers and move on, and revisit to teach and encourage. (Luke 10:1-9; Rom 15:19,20, 1Cor. 4:15)

He has defined the church as a Household of God where two or three gather together in His name, with a mission to bind the strongman and release those in bondage, especially those in religious bondage, including Christians. (Eph. 2: 19,20; Math. 12:29; 18:18-20).

The function of the pulpit is not so much as to give sermons as to identify the gifts and talents stagnating on the pews and empower them to go among the spiritually blind, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among the saints.” (Acts 26:18)

The church is now the altar of the new covenant where broken and contrite hearts are to be offered on a daily basis as living sacrifice, well pleasing to God. He has promised “I will meet with you and speak with you” wherever such sacrifices are made. (Acts 22:46,47; Malachi. 1:11; Psalm 51:17; Rom. 15:16, Exodus 29:42)

Your neighborhood and work place are your primary nuclear church; and you being accountable for those souls. The objective is to reach the ends of the earth, one household at a time. (Eze. 3:18)

The church exists to fulfill the Great Commission until the last Gentile has heard the gospel to a decision making level. It is more than praying. It is praying, proclaiming and possessing your inheritance. It is reaching the unreached. While three old men, Moses, Aaron and Hur were interceding on the hill top, all the young men, led by Joshua were fighting the battle on the ground. This mandate of discipling the nations will continue until, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our Lord and his Messiah.”  (Rev. 11:15;  Exodus 17:10-12).

Yeshua takes the entire Harvest mandate so seriously that He is coming back with a sickle in his hand. (Rev. 14:13-15).

You have several choices:

  1. You can be a fisher of men and catch plenty of two- legged fish that reproduce. (But not the Sunday aquarium variety). (Math. 4:19)
  2. You can be a walking and talking mobile temple of the living God and offer sanctified sinners as living sacrifice, a fragrant aroma, well pleasing to God. (2 Cor. 6:16; Romans 15:16; 1 Peter 2:5; Rev. 8:3,4)
  3. You can be a shepherd and go find lost sheep, who are not of this fold and add them to your flock, so that there will be one Shepherd and one flock. (John 10:16)
  4. You can be a royal priest and go and declare His glory to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death. (1Peter 2:9; Matt. 4:15,16)
  5. You can be a fruit bearing tree and bring forth abundant lasting fruit (baptized, equipped and sent out) and thus qualify to be His disciple. (John 15:8, 16; Matt, 7:16-20)

But the one choice you do not have and that is just to be a passive hearer (pew warmer) and not a passionate doer of the Word; lest you deceive yourselves! So Beware….  (James 1:22)
