Biblical Prayer Points: Praying For Nations, Cities, Leaders, And One Another - World Map Prayer - Intercession - 1 Timothy 2:1-2 - Jeremiah 29:7 - James 5:16 - How To Pray For Nations
1. For Nations
“Ask of me, and I will give you nations for your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.” (Psalm 2:8)
Pray that the nations would come to know the Lord and that the gospel would reach every people group. Ask God to raise up workers for the nations and to open doors that seem closed to the message of Christ.
2. For the Healing of the Land
“If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Pray that the church would humble itself, seek God’s face, and turn from sin. Ask God to forgive the sins of our nation and to bring healing, justice, and righteousness to the land.
3. For Your City
“Seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.” (Jeremiah 29:7)
Pray for the peace, safety, and welfare of your city. Ask God to bless its families, businesses, schools, and leaders, and to make believers a blessing wherever they live.
4. For Rulers
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men, for kings and all those in authority, so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity.” (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
Pray for government leaders, judges, and all who hold authority. Ask God to grant them wisdom, integrity, and a heart for justice, so that believers can live peaceful and godly lives.
5. For Enemies
“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44)
Pray for those who oppose you or persecute the church. Ask God to soften their hearts, to help you bless them rather than curse them, and to grant them the grace of repentance and salvation.
6. For Laborers
“The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.” (Luke 10:2)
Pray that the Lord of the harvest would send workers into the fields of the gospel. Ask for pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and ordinary believers who will share Christ, and for protection and strength for those already serving.
7. For Each Other
“Confess your faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous one avails much.” (James 5:16)
Pray for one another’s needs, healing, and spiritual growth. Make confession a regular part of your fellowship, and commit to praying for the believers around you by name.
A Closing Prayer
Father, we bring before you the nations, our land, our cities, our leaders, those who oppose us, the workers in your harvest, and one another. Hear us, forgive us, heal us, and send out laborers into your harvest. In the name of Yeshua, Amen.
Shalom,
